Applications

CEWELD® AA 58 Safe is a nickel- and chromium-free hardfacing wire designed for extreme abrasion resistance, where a single layer applied to mild steel achieves a hardness of over 55 HRc.

Typical applications include cutting tools, cutting edges, industrial knives, shears, shredder blades, and breaking parts. In the cement and steel industries, it is highly suitable for hot rollers, impellers, sintering plant components, and furnace components.

Properties

Because chromium(VI) emissions are a critical concern in welding, CEWELD® AA 58 Safe was specifically developed to deliver outstanding welding performance while completely eliminating chromium and nickel content, thereby drastically reducing hazardous and harmful emissions during the welding process.

For base materials that are sensitive to welding, preheating or applying a buffer layer of CEWELD® 4370 or CEWELD® OA MnCr is highly recommended.
